MINNESOTA
WHEREAS the City Council passed a resolution (C.F. 97-393) regarding the abatement
of a nuisance building located at 421 Blair Avenue in the City of Saint Paul which was adopted
on Apri19, 1997, and provided in pertinent part that Public Health would demolish the shucture
if the property owners did not make all repairs necessary for code compliance within-1$A-days,

WHEREAS vacant buiiding inspectors are now authorized to proceed to demolition
because of the owners' failure to comply fully with the CounciPs abatement order, and
VJHEREAS Council staff has learued new information from the owners who wish to
explain a change in circumstances beyond their control for their failure to comply with the
Council's abatement order wkrich could justify a possible extension of time to repair the nuisance
building as the Council deems appropriate in the exercise of its discretion, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, the matter decided in the above-referenced resolution should be
scheduled for a public hearing on Wednesday, November 12, 1997, far the limited purpose of
deciding whether to grant an extension of time for the owners to comply with the CounciPs
original abatement order.
