1 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department has received a grant from tLe Minnesota Department of Public
2 Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, in the amount of $41,000, for the project enfltled SAFE & SOBER for the
3 period October 1,1997 through September 30,1998, and

5 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department desires to set up a budget of $9,800 in 1997 for the 97-98
6 SAFE & SOBER program, and the remaining $31,200 in the 1998 budget,and

8 WAEREAS, The Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that
9 there are available for appropriation funds in excess of those estimated in the 1997 budget; and
