WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 471.705, subd. la (1994), provides that a governing body of a
public employer may by majority vote in a public meeting decide to hold a closed meeting to
consider strategy for labor negotiations; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Council of the City of Saint Paul to meet and discuss
various labor negotiarion issues and certain pending litigation; now, therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul will hold a closed meeting to consider
10 strategy for labor negoriations pursuant to the provisions of Mimi. Stat. § 471.705, subd. 1 a(1994),
11 and to discuss certain pending litigation, said meeting to be held on October 1, 1997, at 230 p.m.
12 in the Council Conference Room; and be it

14 FCTRTHER RESOLVED, that the labor negoriation portion of said closed meeting will be
15 taped and such tape shall be preserved in accardance with Minn. Stat. § 471.705, subd. 1 a.
