1 WI3EREAS, Ciry Council Resolution 97-1001, adopted on August 13, 1997, requested
2 that the Department of Public Works and Division of Parks and Recreation complete a number
3 of activiues related to sib ing and striping a one-way bike lane along the bluff side of

WHEREAS, the following budget resolution will provide the financing needed in order
to implement 97-1001, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to secfion 10.07.02 of the City charter does certify
that there are available for appropriation revenues in excess of those estimated in the 1997
budget, and
WHEREAS, Council file 277520, adapted October 1, 1981 did establish certaiu Special
Fund Polices, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following changes to the 1997 budget:

(Designating Mississippi River Boulevard as a"bicycle route", designating a safe speed of 25 m.p.h. along the boulevard
and requesting the Department of Public Works to sign and stripe a one-way south bound bicycle lane along the bluff
side of Mississippi River Boulevard and erect signs designating the 25 m.p.h. safe speed.)
