Presented By Referred To RESOLUTION PAUL, MINNESOTA /O Committee: Date WHEREAS, the Director of the Deparlment of Human Rights has received a chazge asking him to investigate whether there aze reasonable grounds to believe that Respondent Refrigeration Repairs has discriminated, on the basis of race, color, association and opposition, against Beau James Marseth and Billy Ray Nail in violation of Saint Paul Legislative Code Section 183.03 (2) b,c,d; and WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Human Kights has conducted such investigaflon and found pro�able cause exists to support such allegations; and WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Human Rights has unsuccessfully attempted to resolve, conciliate and compromise the conflict between the parties; and WIIEREAS, the Saint Paul Legislative Code Sections 183.20 and 183.24 provide that civil enforcement proceedings be instigated by the Director of the Department of Human Rights and such hearings are to be presided over by a chairperson and law officer; and WHEREAS, a hearing has been scheduled for August 27, 1997; now therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Saint Paul City Council, that the City of Saint Paul, by its Human Rights Department, is authorized to retain the services of Kathleen D. Sheehy at the rate of $84.00 per hour for services as law officer relative to the Complaint of Beau James Morseth v. Refrigeration Repairs and Billy Ray Nail v. Refrigeration Repairs and be it FiTItTHER RESOLVED, thax the compensa6on to be paid to Kathleen D. Sheehy be charged to the Department of Human Rights.
