1 WHEREAS, the Como Zoological Society raises funds to support the Como Zoo.
2 WHEREAS, the Como Zoological Society has an annual golf tournament as one of their
3 fundraising events;
4 WHEREAS, It is in the public interest for the City to support the fundraising efforts of the
5 Como Zoological Society as an important source of private funds for the support
6 of a major 5aint Paul tourist and recreational attraction; and
7 WHEREAS, it is in tha public interest for City officials to participate in the golf
8 tournament and to be visible in support of that event, be it
9 RESOLVED, that the Director of Parks and Recreation be authorized to accept from the
i o Como Zoological Society on behalf of the City of Saint Paul the gift of free
11 participation in the golf tournament for up to 10 City officials, and be further
12 authorized in his discretion to invite a representative group of City officials to
13 participate in such tournament.

The Como Zoological Society annualy hosts a golf tournament to raise funds for
the Como Zoo. Various City officials are willing to participate to show support
for the Zoo. The Zoological Society wishes to waive the fees. (Aug. 12, 1996)
