WHEREAS, Chapter 293 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code was enacted to regulate the subject
of noise in the City of Saint Paul, and
WHEREAS, Section 293.11 provides for the granting of variances by the City Council upon its
finding that full compliance with said Chapter would constitute an unreasonable hardship
on an applicant, other persons or on the community, and
WHEREAS, Applicant Amelia's Night Club Bar & Eatery, represented by Dennis F. Galassie, has
requested a varianae to allow live music in Mears Park on July 19, 20 & 21, 1996, and
WHEREAS, the above Applicant has requested a variance for the hours of 12 noon until
10:0� p.m., eaah day of the event, and
WHEREAS, the Office of License, Inspection and Environmental Protection has reviewed the
apglication and has made recommendations as set forth herein; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Council o£ the City of Saint Paul hereby grants a variance to the above
Applicant upon the following conditions:
1) The vaYiance shall be for the hours of 12 noon to 10:00 p.m. on July 19, 20 & 21,
1996.
2) All electronic�ly powered equipment used in conjunction with the event shall not
exceed �sly �Q�dBA as measured from a distance o£ £ifty (50) feet from the source.
3) All electronically powered equipment, PA systems, loudspeakers or similar devices
shall be turned off at 10:00 p.m. each night of the event.
4) The Applicant shall provide personnel and equipment who shall monitor sound levels
between 12 noon and 10:00 p.m. to ensure compliance with condition number 2.
