At that time, the existing pay rate for Refectory Helper was adopted for the new t+tle, and those employees who had been Recreat+on Aides were upgraded $.25 per hour. The current pay rate fcr Parks and Recreation Assistan: was last adjusted in 1 g89. Since that time, rising private sector wage levels and a stagnent City level have left the City at a distinct disadvantage in recruiting and retaining employees in this title. Entry levei service persons at fast food chains like McDonalds or Burger King earn $6.00 per hour or more. Our entry level Parks and Recreation Assistants earn $4.50 per hour.
