MEMORANDUM OF AGREEEMENT BETWEEN T'HE CTTY OF SAINT PAUL
AND AFSCME COUNCIL 14, LOCAL UNION 1842
REGARDING THE INCLUSION OF WATER METER REPAIRERS
INTO THE BARGAINING UNTT 1995-1996
This Memorandum of Agreement is entered into between the City of Saint Paul (hereinafter
"City") and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, District Council
14, Local 1842 (hereinafter "Union"). The City and Union have previously agreed that the Water
Meter Repairers be merged into the Union. This merger was approved on February 6, 1996 by
the Minnesota Bureau of Mediation Services. The Water Meter Repairers were previously in the
United Association of Water Meter Repairers, Locai No. 34.
The purpose of this Memorandum of Agreement is to incorporate the terms and conditions of the
previous collective bargaining agreement between the City and the United Association of Water
Meter Repairers, Local No.34 into the existing bargaining agreement between the City and Union
The parties hereby agree to the following:
W ages:
Effective Apri129, 1995, the wage schedule for Water Meter Repairers shall be
increased by two percent (2%). After the two percent (2%) adjustment to the base
is made, the City will provide an additional $0.18 per hour for the vacation that
had been negotiated in lieu of a scheduled wage increase in a previous agreement
with the United Association of Water Meter Repairers, Local No. 34.
Effective December 23, 1995, the wage schedule for Water Meter Repairers shall
be increased by an additional two percent (2%).
Insurance:
Effective January 1, 1995 the City contribution shall be as provided under the
terms of the collective bargaining agreement with the Union, and
Effective January l, 1996, the City contribution shall be as provided under the
terms of the coilective bargaining agreement with the Union
Terms and Conditions:
Effective January 1, 1996, all other terms and conditions shall be consistent with
the collective bargaining agreement for 1995-1996 between the City and Union
with the exception that the wages for the Water Meter Repairers will be as set
forth in the Memorandum of Agreement.
