11�ission Statement and Guidelines for the Communify Biilboard of the Easfern District
The r�ission of the Communiry Bil]board is to communicate a responsible, educational,
informational and community oriented message to and from the community util'v�ing quality
mechods of advertising.
Cruidelines for the Community Billboazd:
Members of the Community Billlboard u�ill represent the following community
organizations: PABf� bSTTDC, District 5 and the SPPD.
2. The Billboard Committee will operate by consensus on bilJboard messages as far as
content, fle�bility and for the schedule of length oftime.
3. The committee will send its recommendations to the Chief of Police.
4. The Chief of Police will receive recommendations by the Billboard Committee and be the
final authority for each message.
The committee will make best efforts to engage the commercial advertising companies to
participate in the Community Billboard in order to acqu'ue state of the art techniques,
messages and to be cosi ro,;,pztit;�e.
Potential messages for the first six months:
Payne Arcade Harvest Festival be highlighted for a period fiom August I through
September 15.
2. Truancy message could be� n around October 1 which is when the tsuancy center would
be geared up for the 199607 school year.
The "summer" Curfew Center could be up and running around June 3, and it could be the
first message.
4. Thursday 2�5ght Live concerts at Phalen Park could be a potential for a general
: community message.
