WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has approximately 60 miles of designated trunk highways
located within the City limits which require annual, routine maintenance, and
WHEREAS, a two-year trunk highway maintenance agreement numbered 73208 and effective
from July 1, 1995, through June 30, 1997, was negotiated and executed between the City of
Saint Paul and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) stipulating terms and
costs of City Force participation for maintenance of the trunk highway system located in Saint
Paul, and
WHEREAS, since the above agreement was executed, 5 miles of University Avenue (TH 952A)
were turned over to Ramsey County jurisdiction and thereby reducing the total amount of cash
receivable from MnDOT to the City of Saint Paul under terms of the original agreement from
$992,709.00 to $803,574.22, and
WHEREAS, an amendment to Trunk Highway Agreement Number 73208 was negotiated and
approved by the City of Saint Paul engineering staff to account for the reduction of cash
receivable due to the above trunk highway mileage turnover, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul enter into Amendment Number 1 to Trunk Highway
Agreement Number 73208 with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to
execute said agreement.

MnDOT, Ramsey Counfy, and the City of Saint Paul agreed in a separat� ent signe� by alf fhree parties fo a fen-year
program to reclassify the current trunk highway and County road system i e nder the terms of the
agreement to reclassify the trunk highway and the County road system in Saint Paul, �ity Avenue from Rice Street to
the western City limits will become a designated Ramsey County road. Also outlined in the terms of the City, County, and
MnDOT agreement are the maintenance responsibilities for Saint Paul regarding the changes made in the trunk highway
and County road system. Saint Paul will continue to maintain the portion of University Avenue that is becoming a County
road with continued reimbursement from Ramsey County.
ADVANTAGESIFAPPROVED:
The amendment can be signed by MnDOT and City officials so that payments due the City for trunk highway road
maintenance on the remainder of the trunk highways in Saint Paul are received. ����
