WHEREAS, the City of SaiM Paui has committed funding to assist the Science Museum of Minnesota in constructing
a new museum abng the Saint Paul riverfror� and
W HEREAS, the State of Minnesota is also committed to providing support to this effort, and has provided a$1 million
rt�atching grant to ihe Science Museum for preliminary design work, and the Science Museum has met the $2 million
match requiremer� and
WHEREAS, the State of MinnesoTa requires th2t the City of Saint Paul serve as the fiscai agent for this gran�
now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the 1996 capitai project entitled "Science Museum - City and State Contribution," be amended to
accept the $1 million State of Minnesota predesign granY, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the entire amount be disbursed to the Science Museum of Minnesota soon after
receipt of the funds by the City of Saint Paul; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amendment to fhis project applies only to the 1996 portion of the City's contribution
to the Science Museum, the remaining coMribution of $3,100,000 to be financed in 1997 for a toTal contribution of
$14,500,OW as approved by the City Council (CF95-1459); and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the mayor and advice of the
Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that the Capital Improvement Budget, as heretofore adopted
and amended by this Council be hereby further amended in the following particular:

The State of Minnesota requires that the CiTy of Saint Paul serve as the fiscal agent for state fimding provided to the new science museum along
the Saint Paul river&ont. The City will receive the gant funds and disburse them to the Science Museum according to the temis of the State gant.
