The school district will have to discontinue these programs with the St. Paul Police Deparhnent, which would eliminate

WHEREAS, the Board o£ Independent School District No. 625

Saint Paul Public Schools Board of Education ,authora.zed an
agreement with the City of Saint Paul Police Department for the
purpose of providing services to the Dietrict; now, there£ore,
IT IS HEREBY AGREED, by and between the parties, as £ollows:
I
District agrees to pay City for the salary cost incurred to
permit the assignment of ten sworn police officers and one police
sergeant for School Liaieon Officer duties to be performed on
behalf of the Dietrict during the period of the 1995 - 1996
school year-(January Bth, 1996 through June 7, 1996),the amount
of ane hundred and three thousand dollars($103,000.00).
II
Persons connected with the program will remain employees of the
City, and, therefore, covered by the City's Workers Compensation
program; will be paid by the City and entitled to City fringe
benefits. Persons connected with the program will be expected to
abide by and are govexned by the rules and regulations of the
City.
III
The police officers furnished by the City to the District will
per£orm services and duties as directed by the supervisor of the
school liaison program in cooperation with the diatrict.
IV
District and City shall mutually agree upon the personnel to be
selected by the City and assigned to the District, and from time to
time, ehall review the selection of peraonnel to achieve che best
interests of both the District and the City.

Guidelines concerning duties to be performed by the officere shall
be determined by the Aiatrict and City-
vI
Billing for the services described in paragraph 3, shall be made no
later than 10 days past June 10,1996. The Diatrict agrees to pay
the amount billed no later than 3o days after receipt of the bill.
VII
Either party to this agreement may cancel this said Agreement upon
serving a written 30-day notice upon the other party. In the event
that this Agreement is canceled pursuant to this provision, the
costs payable by District to the City ahall be prorated up to said
date of cancellation,
VIII
Either party to this agreement may extend or amend this said
Agreement with the mutual consent and agreement of both parties. in
the event that this Agreement is extended or amended pursuant to
this provision, the costs payable by District to the City shall be
prorated from said date of extension.

AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, made this tenth day of January, 1996 by and
between INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 625, hereina£ter referred
to as "District", and CITY OF SAINT PAUL POLICE DEPARTMENT,
hereinaEter referred to as "CITY", WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the Board of Independent School District No. 625

Saint Paul Publi,c Schools Board of Education ,authorized an
agreement with the City of Saint Paul Police Department for the
purpose of providing aervices to the District; now, therefore,
IT IS HEREBY AGREED, by and between the parties, as follows:
I
District agreee to pay City for the salary cost incurred to
permit the assignment of two sworn police oPficers for duties to
be performed on behalf of the District during the period of the
1996 Summer School year-(JUne 17, 1996 through August O1, 1996)
in the amount of four thousand dollars($4,000.00?.
II
Persons connected with the program will remain employees of
the City, and, therefore, covered by the city's Workers
Compensation program; will be paid by the City and entitled to
City fringe benefits. Persons connected with the program will be
expected to abide by and are governed by the rules and
regulationa of the City.
III
The police officers furnished by the City to the District
will perform services and duties as directed by the supervisor of

IV
Diatrict and City ahall mutually agree upon the persoanel to
be selected by the City and assigned to the District, and from
time to time, shall review the selection of personnel to achieve
