WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department has received allocations from the United States Departinent
of Defense: Surplus velucles, equipment and clothing for the suppression of drug related activity in the
amount of $37,827.01 . These items have been assigned to the Saint Paul Police Department on a long
term basis, however; they aze subject to recall should a national emergency arise. These items include:
A.) 1— 1990 Chevrolet 1-1/4 ton pick—up iruck
B.) 224 — Gas Masks
C.) 31 gevlar protective helmets
D.) 40 Sets of cold weather clothing (parkas,liners,trousers,mittens, etc.)
E.) 40 Sets of load bearing equipment (backpacks,web belts, etc.)
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department wishes to accept these items and any future allocations of
velucles, equipment and clothing for the suppression of drug activity, to be used in programs wluch make
the City of Saint Paul a safer place to live, and
NOW, THEREFORE BE TT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul accepts and sincerely thanks the
U.S. Departrnent of Defense for the use of these items.
