WHEREAS, said Grand Opening is the culxnination of countless hours of endeavor on
the part of Port Authority members and staff and City officials and staff as well as persons
from the private sector, and
WHEREAS, said Grand Opening is intended to herald and bring into being a multi-
faceted effort to revitalize downtown Saint Paul, and
WHEREAS, the re��italization of downtown Saint Paul will contribute to the economic
growth of the City and enhance the commercial value and viability of a significant portion of
the community, and
WHEREAS, a significant public purpose is served and public benefit derived from
City officials and employees participating in the Grand Opening Celebration, now therefore be
it,
RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts the invitations and related
benefits extended to its officials and employees on theix behalf, and
FURTHER RESOLVED, the City hereby appropriates the invitations and related
benefits for the use of the invitees and authorizes their attendance at the Grand Opening, and
WHEI2EAS, the Saint Paul Port Authority dba Radisson HotelSaint Paul has ea�tended
invitations to the Mayor, Council and various Ciry employees to attend a Grand Opening
Celebration of the Radisson Inn Saint Paul in Town Squaze which is to be held on
April 9, 1996, and

Re: Radisson Inn Grand Opening
Dear Mark:
The Mayor, Council and various City employees have received
invitations to the above event which is to be held on April 9,
1996.
In order to permit such attendance, the Council will have to pass
the enclosed resolution of acceptance and appropriation of the
invitations (gifts) prior to the event. Once done, the invitees
are free to participate as they desire.
