CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA

1 WIIEREAS, the City of Saint Paul would like to encourage its citizens to utilize and enjoy our Riverfront; and
2 WHEREAS, the citizens of Saint Paul should have every opportmuty to engage in recreafion through activities like
3 walking and biking; and
4 WfIEREAS, Shepazd Road between Randolph Avenue and dackson Street would provide a pleasant and scenic route
5 for such acfivifies; now therefore, be it
6 RESOLVED that the Saint Paul Department of Pubiic Works will investigate methods of closing off Shepard Road
7 between Randolph Avenue and Jackson Street (and other possible locations) on Saturdays and Sundays during the
8 months of May through September and report their conclusions back to the City Council by March 31, 1996.

Closing Shepazd Road on weekends between May and September would provide an opprotunity for residents to enjoy the riverfront.
