i WHEREAS, the Department of Fire and Safety Services, in cooperation with The St. Paul Companies, has
2 provided the Junior Fire Marshal program for many years, and

a WHEREAS, the Junior Fire Marshal program is a program to teach fire safety and home fire escape to fifth
s grade students in public and private schools throughout the City of Saint Paul, and

� WHEREAS, this program incurs various costs inCluding pins and cash prizes for winners in the Junior Fire
s Marsha4 Poster Contest, and

i0 WHEREAS, The St. Paul Companies has offered to provide a grant of $5,000.00 for the operation of the
� i Junior Fire Marshal program,

13 NOW, THEREFORE, 8E IT RESOLVED, that the Council and Mayor authorize the Sai�t Paul Fire Chief to accept
ia this gift on behalf of the City and thank The St. Paul Companies for the grant of $5,000.00 that will be used for
