WFiEREA5, Nick Mancini has served as the representative of the City of Saint Paul on the Metropolitan
Airports Commission since being appointed by Mayor Scheibel in 1991; and
WHEREAS, Nick Mancini served Saint Paul well as a Commissioner during a time that the strategic
planning for the future of air traffic in the Twin Cities area was being discussed, as well as the current and
future location of the Minneapolis/Saint Paul International Airport; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Mancini paid close attention to the marketing plan for the Saint Paul Downtown
Airport and was particularly concerned about safety at the airport; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Mancini insured that the Metropolitan Airports Commission would treat the
City of Saint Paul equably in dealing with fire safety issues, securing financing for a fire suppression vehicle
that saved the taxpayers of Saint Paul $200,000; and
WHEREAS, Nick Mancini was able to accomplish all of this and still operate one of the most successful
restaurants in the City of Saint Paul, Mancini's Char House;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council commends Nick Mancini for his years
of service to the City of Saint Paul and thanks him for all of his accomplishments. ,
