RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are authorized and
directed to execute a written agreement with the Blank Park Zoo,
Des Moines, IA, said agreement providing for the sale of one (1)
female Reticulated giraffe, named "Shani," to the Blank Park Zoo.
Placement of said giraffe at the Blank Park Zoo shall be for the
purpose of display and future breeding at the Blank Park Zoo. Said
giraffe having been born at Como Zoo for the purpose of display and
subsequent sale and placement at another zoo and is not targeted as
part of the zoo's giraffe collection is hereby declared surplus to
the needs of the City of St. Paul.
