Chronoloev 1979 - new road in East Side rai{ corridor proposed in City transportation plan 1993 - City develops a comprehensive redevelopment concept for area called "Phalen Corridor", which includes this road, now called "Phalen Bouelvard"; begins to pursue funding for required environmental and infrastructure analysis Spring 1994 - State legislature grants $450,000 toward road EIS Summer 1994 - City Council commits funds to EIS, authorizes grant applications for additional funding; Adminstration commits staff resources to the Phalen Corridor Initiative November 1994 - December 1994 - City formally initiates EIS; contracts for "scoping phase" City advised of 3M Foundation $100,000 grant payabie in 1996 1995-Spring 1996 - Scoping phase of EIS conducted April 1996 - August 1996 - 3M makes grant Resolution to accept grant and make part of the spending plan Upon adoption of Final Scoping Decision, amendment of budget and finalization of contracts, the remainder of the EIS will commence.
