S WHEREAS, the City Council, by its Resolution 94-847 released $20,000.00
6 from 1994 contingency to enable Parks and Recreation Design stafP to work with
7 the community in site selection and preliminary design, and

WHEREAS, a site located on the southwest corner of 4th and Sibley
Streets has been selected and a p.reliminary design prepared, and
WHEREAS, said site is available from the Housing and Redevelopment
Authority on a long term lease basis,
12 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul,
13 that the necessary City officials are hereby authorized to enter into a lease
14 with the FIRA foz the 4th and Sibley site, for the puxpose of constructing the
15 Children's Downtown Outdoor Play Area, said lease to have a term of at least
1 6 ten years, and
17 FURTHER RESOLVED, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the positive
18 advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that the
19 remaining $315,000.00 in 1994 CIB funds and the $22,000.00 in 1995 CIB funds
20 appropriated for the Children's Downtown Outdoor Play Area are hereby released
21 from Specified Contingency.

The City Council placed 1994-95 CIB funds appropriated for powntown Children's Play
Area in specified contingency pending selection of a site. An HRA owned site located on
the southwest corner of 4th and Sibley has been selected, and a preliminary plan completed.
