1 RESOLVED, that upon exe ution and delivery of a release in full to the City of Saint
2 Paul, the proper City officers are I ereby authorized and directed to pay out of the Tort
3 Liability Fund 09070-0511 to Jerol W. Lokken and Nodak Mutual the sum of $6,108.37 in
4 full settlement of their claim for d ages sustained June 7, 1993, as a result of an accident
5 at or near Sheridan Avenue and E�' gcumbe Road.

Jerold W. Lokken was driv ng on Edgcumbe Road near its intersection � ;
with Sheridan Avenue the morning of June 7, 1993 Due to sew�r
construction in that are , the two southbound lanes of traffic on �'
Edgcumbe Road were reduce to one lane whf.ch was rerouted to one of
the Edgcumbe Road nort ud lanes. In essence, four lanes of
opposing traffic were red ced to two lanes (on the same side of the

re�outed southbound lane f traffic. The responsibility for the �
traffic semaphores rested with the City, not the contractor. � .
Mr. Lokken did not se the semaphores that were at that !
intersection (placed fo normal southbound traffic flow} and `
collided with a vehicle stbound on Sheridan. That vehicle, in

The parties have agreed t t Mr. Lokken is 25� liable and the City 4
75�. Is is very possible jury could find the City's liability to
be greater. Both partie have agreed to settle this case for
$6,108.37. This office re ommends settlement of this matter in the
