PAUL (;)4-1304- OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WATER COMMISSIONERS g RESOLUTION—GENERAL FORM No. 4299 COMMISS ONER Schmidt DATF Kay 9, 19714 WHEREAS, The City Council in Resolution No. 92 -1800 did require and authorize that the Utility collect a five (5) percent late charge on all sewer and water bills notipaid within 30 days of the billing date; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 92 -1800 did not define specific rules regarding the application of the five (5) percent late charge to various administrative situations that occur; and WHEREAS, The Utility staff has identified certain rules that if authorized will result in an application that will be more fair, simple, cost - effective and create less controversy to the customers of the Utility; and WHEREAS, The administrative r ies proposed by staff are as follows: 1. A base late charge of five (5) percent shall be applied to all residential and commercial sewer and water bills that total up to and including $2,000; 2. All residential and comlierclal sewer and water bills totaling from $2,001 up to and including $50,000 shall have a late charge of $100 plus 0.83333 percent of the actual dollar amount from $2,001 up tr1 and including $50,000; 3. All residential and commercial sewer and water bills totaling more than $50,000 shall have a maximum late charge of ;500; 4. The five (5) percent lame charge on all City of Saint Paul sewer and water bills not be collected where said bills are submitted on Interdepartmental Requisitions; 5.
