Resolution Authorizing the City to Enter Into
A Grant Agreement with the State of Minnesota
for Funjing of the Phalen Boulevard
Environmental Impact Statement
WHEREAS, the 1994 Legislature appropriated $450,000 to make a grant to the City of Saint .
Paul for the first phase of development and for infrastructure analysis of the Phalen Corridor,
and .
WHEREAS, this first phase of development and infrastructure analysis will be done through the
preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement for the construction of Phalen Boulevard in
the Phalen Corridor;

WHEREAS, to request this money, the City must enter into a grant agreement with the
Minnesota Department of Trade and economic Development
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City enter into a grant agreement with the
State of Minnesota to partially fund the Environmental Impact Statement for the Phalen
Boulevard.

The first phase of the redevelopiaen of Phalen Corridor is the preparation of an Enviro
mental Impact Statement for the prop sed new Phalen Boulevard. The City Council is on
record as supporting this project, a supported legislation to fund the project. The 1 94
Legislature appropriated $450,000 to and the project. The City must enter into a grant
agreement to receive these funds.
