1 WHEREAS, In 1965 the Minnesota Legislature en. ed a law making the City of Saint Paul's civil service rules
2 applicable to employees of Independent School District No. 625; and
3
4 WHEREAS, In 1995 the Minnesota Legislature enacted at its first special session Chapter 3, Article 8, Sections
5 13 and 14, which legislation requires approval thereof by the Board of Education of Independent School District
6 No. 625 and the City Council of the City of Saint Paul and which legislation also authorizes said Board of
7 Education and said City Council to thereafter at any time adopt respective resolutions to provide for separate
8 administration of civil service bureau (city human resources department) functions; and
9
10 WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul desires to approve said 1995 legislation but, for the purpose of continuing
11 productive discussions, does not at this time desire to adopt a separate resolution to provide for separate,
12 administration of civil service bureau (city human resources department) functions; and
13
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the City of Saint Paul does hereby approve Laws 1995, 1st
15 Special Session, Chapter 3, Article 8, Sections 13 and 14; and be it
16
17 FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Clerk, as the chief clerical officer of the City of Saint Paul, shall
18 forthwith file with the Secretary of State a certificate in form prescribed by the Attorney General stating the
19 essential facts necessary to said approval of said Acts hereunder and including a copy of this Resolution
20 of approval of said Act in compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021.
