1 Wf�REA5, the City of Saint Paul has maintained a Sister City relationship with the City of Nagasald, Japan, since
2 1955, and
3 Wf�REA5, the City of Nagasaki, Japan has invited Council President Thune to attend the August 9, 1995 Peace
4 Ceremony in Nagasaki, Japan, commorating the SOth anniversary of the end of World War II and the 40th
5 anniversary of the Saint Paul - Nagasaki Sister City relationship, and
6 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul - Nagasaki Sister City Committee wishes to support this event by providing funds to
7 assist with travel expenses to Nagasaki by Council President Thune, now, therefore be it
8 RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts the gift of $1,000 from the Saint Paul - Nagasaki Sister
9 Committee to assist with Council President Thune's expenses while traveling to Nagasaki, Japan, as an official
10 representative of the City of Saint Paul.
