1 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is rebuilding Davem Street as part of a sewer sepazation project, and;
2 WHEREAS, this rebuilding will make the street more conducive to highet traffic speeds; and
3 WIIEREAS, there is significant neighborhood concem about safety due to speeding on Davern Street between
4 Edgcumbe Road and St. Paul Avenue; and
5 WHEREAS, Davern Street residents haue requested assistance from the Public Works Department in addressing
6 trafficspeeds; and
7 WHEI,tEAS, the Highland Area Community Council has passed a resolution calling for the installation of speed
8 humps on Davern Street between Edgcuxnbe Road and St. Paul Avenue; and
9 WHEREAS, the operator of the Sibley Plaza shopping center supports the installation of speed humps on Davem
10 Street; now, therefore, be it
i l RESOLVED, that the City Council direct the Department of Public Works to install speed humps on Davern Street
12 between Edgcumbe Road and St. Paul Avenue.
