1 WHEREAS, PROSPERITY AVENUE between Johnson Parkway and Larpenteur Avenue is
2 currently designated as County Sate Aid Highway (CSAH) 64.

4 WHEREAS, PROSPERITY AVENUE intersects Maryland Avenue at two locations that are
5 approximately 400' apart.

7 WHEREAS, It is desirable to realign the route of GSAH 64 between Johnson Parkway and
8 Maryland Avenue so that CSAH 64, South of Maryland Avenue, is aligned with the existing
9 CSAH 64 North of Maryland Avenue.

11 WHEREAS, The realignment of CSAH 64 is included in the Phalen Village Small Area Plan.

13 WHEREAS, Ramsey County will revise the route of CSAH 64, if the City of Saint Paul approves
i 4 the realignment.

The reaiignment of Prosperity Avenue between Johnson Parkway and Maryland Avenue has besn ident'rfied as an objec[ive of the
Phaien Village Small Area Plan. The construction of Prosperity Avenue on a new alignment between Rase Avenue and Maryland
Avenue is funded in the 1994 CIB Budget. In order to spend the budgeted Municipal State Aid funds, and in order to be eiigible for
future County funds, the City Council has to approve the Resolution. See attached map showing proposed alignment of CSAH 64.
