1 WHEREAS, Commander Neil Rondor� USN, commanded the United States Navy submarine, USS
2 Minneapolis-Saint Paul (SSN 708), during the Desert Shield/Storm Operation, earning a Meritorious
3 Unit Commendation for the boat; and
4 WHEREAS, Cdr. Neil Rondorf brought fame to lus command and, therefore, to the CYty of Saint Paul
5 that provided the command's name; and
6 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is proud of the special relationship city government and the United
7 States Navy haue forged together, including honor gained from the former cruiser USS Saint Paul (CA
8 73), whose anchor rests on Harriet Island and whose bell graces the corridor outside our chambers in
9 CYty Hall; and
10 WfIEREAS, Cdr. Neil Rondorf is a native Minnesotan from Thief River Falls and a United States
11 Nava1 Academy graduate who continues to distinguish his service, his state and himself in defense of
12 our country; therefore, he represents a great contribution this state gives this maritime nation;
13 NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Saint Paul City Council, do recognize Cdr. Neil Rondorf, and present
14 to him this Saint Paul City Council Resolution.
