WHEREAS, The Division of Libraries has charged a fine on overdue adult materials of .20 cents
per day since 1986, and
WHEREAS, To ensure that Library materials are returned in a timely manner, the Library now
recommends an increase to .25 cents per day on adult materials, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RE50LVED, That effective with the adoption of this resolution the
fine for overdue adult library materials will be .25 cents per day.

amount presently charged by the Minneapolis Public Library, the
suburban Ramsey County Public Library, and the suburban Hennepin
County Public Library.
� This request does NOT recommend an increase in fines for
children's materials.
• This request does NOT raise the maximum amount charged for fines
on adult materials (currently $10.00).
