The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received the report of the Mayor upon the above
improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. T1�aT the said report and the same is hereby approve with no alternatives, and that the
estimated cost thereof is $5.467.00, financed by Street Improvement Bonds, assessments and other funds.

2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the �th day of July, 2010, at 530
o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the manner provided by the
Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as
estimated.

Business owners requested we construct concrete boulevazd sidewalks to replace dirt and asphalt boulevazds. Business owner
requested we reconstruct interior sidewalk a6utting mainline sidewalk to establish pxoper drainage.

The community will benefit from these projects because they will provide safe defect free sidewalks for its many citizens: The
sidewalk contracts aze done by private contractors generaring public sector jobs as a result.
DisadvantageslfApproved: -
Historically, the sidewalk consh ucrion and reconstruction have negative feedback because of construction procedures and
assessments. Having to assess for wallc conshuction and reconshuction remains a controversial issue.
Disadvantages If Not Approved: _
This oprion would allow the infrastructure of sidewalk to deteriorate, which in tum, will generate more personal injury suits resulting
in expenditure of lazger dollazs amounts in repairs and replacements, as well as claim payouts.
