improvement, and having considered said report, hereby
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approve with no
alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is 584,170.00 financed by
Street Improvement Bonds and assessments.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 19th day of
March, 2008, at 5:30 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall
and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the
manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the
nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.

Project
Add construction of Lantern Style lighting on Thom Street west of Earl Street, and on McLean
Avenue from Gypress Street to Earl Street to the 2008 Earl-Mclean Residential Street Vitality
Program (RSVP� project.
Initiating Action
The Earl McLean RSVP project is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2008. Residents
on Thorn Street and McLean Avenue have requested adding Lantern Style Lighting on these
two blocks to the RSVP project. The lantern style lighting is the City of St. Paul Street Lighti�g
Policy recommended style of lighting for residential streets.
Proposed Improvements
It is proposed to install 14 foot tail singfe redesigned historic lantern style street lighting system
on Thorn Street west of Earl Street, and on McLean Avenue from Cypress Street to Earl Street.
Positive Benefits
The new light installation will complete the installation of residential redesigned historic lantern
style street lighting in the area.
Adverse Effects
Increase on the City's Operation and Maintenance Costs.
