In the Matter of the Operation Costs of the Above Standard Street Lighting
System for 2007 for the above project (File No. 190400P).
The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received the report of the
Mayor upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby
resolves:
l. That the said report and the same is hereby approve with no
alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $550,000.00, £inanced by
Assessments and 20�7 Street Improvement Bonds.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 4th day of
April, 2007, at 5:30 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall
and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the
manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the
nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.

Rice Street is an aging commercial comdor with older sidewalks and highway-type street �ighUng. Replacement of sidewalks and
instal[ation,oP-lantern-sryle st�eet lighting wiII greatlyimprove ffie sfreetscape on Rice Street, which is the main pedestrian corzidor on
the nordh end. _ This �}�roject will� also suppoR the building improvements made by Icoal bvsinesses as �part of Ehe Rice Street
Commercial Co�idor Revitalization Program. The project will be constructed in rivo phases. Phase I from Sycamore to Front was
consVUCted in 2006, aud Phase SI Front to Rose wiU be constructed in 2007.
