In the Matter of the Operation Costs of the Above Standard Street Lighting
System for 2006 for the above project (File No. 190270P).
The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received the report of the
Mayor upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby
resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approve with no
alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $750,000.00 financed by
Assessments, 2006 Street Improvement Bonds and STAR Grant.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 5th day of
July, 2006, at 5:30 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hal1
and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the
manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the
nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.

Rice Stzeet is an aging commercial cotridor with older sidewalks and highway rype street li�,hting. Replacement of sidewalks an<
installation of lantem-style street lighting will greatly improve the streetscape on Rice Street, which is the main pedestrian corridor on
the North End. This project will also support the building impxovements made by local businesses as pazi of the Rice Street Commercial
Coiridor Revitalization Program. The projec[ will be constructed in rivo phases. Phase I fxom Sycamore to Front will be constructed i�
2006, and Phase II from Front to Maryland, will be constructed in 2007.
