In the Matter of constructing public improvements for Concord Street from
Annapolis Street to Wabasha Street and Wabasha Street Concord Street to
Plato Boulevard to include bituminous mill/overlay, striping of bike lanes,
adding parking bays, traffic calming to improve pedestrian safety
issues/improve flows through the Concord-State-George intersection, construct
a center median at various locations and trees will be planted.
Also, a new storm sewer system will be constructed in Concord Street from
Barge Channel Road to State Street and in State Street from Concord Street to
Stevens Street.
The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received the report of the
Mayor upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby
resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approve with no
alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $3,070,973.00, financed
by 2004 Major Sewer Repair Funds and Met Council Livable Community Funds.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 16th dav of
March 2005, at 5:30 o'clock o.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall
and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the
manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the
nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.

The intersection of Concord-State-George is lazge and confusing to drivers and difficult for pedestrians to cross. Concord/Wabasha
has no bike lanes. Flooding occurs at the Bancrofr/Robie intersections due to an inadequate storm sewer in Conwrd.
