In the Matter of operating costs for the above standard street lighting
system on both sides of Snelling Avenue from Aague Avenue to Dayton Avenue,
the north side of Selby Avenue from approximately 229 feet west of Snelling
Avenue to 340 feet east of Snelling Avenue, the south side of Selby Avenue
from approximately 229 feet west of Snelling Avenue to 220 £eet east of
Snelling Avenue, and the north side of Hague Avenue from approximately 180
feet east of 5nelling Avenue to Snelling Avenue from the months of January 1,
2000 to December 31, 2000.
The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received the report of the
Mayor upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby
resolves:
l. That the said report and the same is hereby approved with no
alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $6,607.51
financed by assessments only.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on Wednesday, 22th
of March, 2000, at 5:30 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in
the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof
as estimated.

Association. The existing nonstandard globe lighting system is deteriorating rapidly. The Snelling Selby Business
Associatiion h�s recieved a$75,000 STAR Grant from PED. The remaining costs wili be assessed to the Sneiling Seiby
Business Associa�. m, to which they have agreed. ,

The deteriorating nonstanciard globe system, abng with 8 bent straw tights will be seplaced with a historic twin lantem sty4e
Gghting system, t� >_re5y enhancing the aestheNcs of the business area. This new lighting system will provide lighting of a
quantity and uniformity that meets current design standards.
DISAWANTAGES IF APPROYED:
increased annual operating and maintena�ce costs to abutting property owners.
DISADVANlAGES IF NOT APPROVED:
Street lighting woutd remain inadequate and non-standard in ifiis area. increased maiMenance crosts to abutting property
