The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received Che report of the Mayor upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves: 1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved with alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $163,333 financed by assessments of $88,333 and Star Grant of $75,000 2000. no for 2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on Wednesday, 22th of March, 2000, at 5:30 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul. 3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated. The existing nonstandard globe ligh6ng system is deteriorating rapidly. The Sneliing Seiby Business Associatiion has recieved a$75,000 STAR GraM #rom PED. The remaining costs will be assessed to the Snelling Selby Business Association, to which they have agreed. PDVANTAGES 4F APPROYm: The deteriorating nonstandard globe system, along with 8 bent straw lights will be replaced with a historic iwin lantem style lighting system, thereby enhancing the aesthetics of the business area. This new lighting system will provide lighting of a quantity and uniformity that meets current design standards. DISADVANfAGES IP FPPROVED: Increased assessment costs to abutting property owners. .
