In the liatter of Installation of a Lantern Style Street Lighting System on
Beechwood Avenue from Snelling Avenue to Macalester Street (North Side) and
Macalester Walk (South Side).
The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received the report of
the Mayor upon the above improvement, and having considered said report,
hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved with no
alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $14,100
financed by assessments only.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 25th
day of Octobei, 1995, at 3:30 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall and Court House Building in the City of Saint
Paul.

Residents on Beechwood Ave. have submitted a petition (copy attached) for the installation of a
lantern style street lighting system. Lighting installation costs to be 100% assessed according to Ci•.
lighiing policy. Fifteen of nineteen affected prope+ty owners (79%) have signed the petition in favor
of the proposed iighting improvement.
Street lighting improvements enhance vehicular and pedestrian safety, neighborhood aesthetics
