An Ordinance Amending Chapter 43 Of The Saint Paul Legislative Code To
Provide For Assessment Of Vacant Building Monitoring.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:

Section 43.09of the Saint Paul Legislative Code is hereby created to read as follows: Q �� �� 2D��
Sec. 43.09. Collection of Unnaid Fees.
�1) Writtennotice.
a. Written notice of fees. The denartment of safety and inspections shall in addition to any other action the
department mav undertake serve written notice of the fees in conformance with the reauirements set forth
in this chapter.
b. Notice for collection of fees shall include the amount of the vacant buildin� fee that is the xes�onsibility
of the buildine owner and a statement that the fee shall be naid within the time neriod(sl idenfified in the
notice.
(2) Fee and liabilitv. The citv shall be entitled to collect the costs of vacant buildin� registration and
monitorine. The fees associated with the vacant buildine program shall be a debt owed to the cit� and
unpaid costs shall be collected b�pecial assessment under the authoritv in Minnesota Statutes Section
429101 and the charter bYthe procedure outlined in Chapter 60 of the Saint Paul Administrative Code
Action under this section does not preclude anv other civil or criminal enforcement orocedure

This series of Ordinances is merely housekeeping in nahue. Currently DSI assessment language is located [hroughout the codes
associated with DSI. These Ordinances make all language consistent and cleazly place all assessment language in the same chapter of
the Adminishative Code.
