6 THE COLTNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:

10 A new section 157.21 is hereby adopted as part of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, to
11 read as follows:

13 Sec. 157.21. Penaity; Eaception for fines paid early.
14
15 No person shall stop, stand or pazk or cause to stop, stand or park any vehicle in any
16 place in violation of the rules and regulations of this chapter. Any such violation shall be a
17 misdemeanor, except that the ma�cimum penalty for any violation of a rule or regulation of
18 this chapter is a fine of fifteen dollars ($15.00) if the fine is paid in the h��c violations
19 bureau within one (i) week of the date of the violation.

21 This exception shall not apply in either of the following instances:

23 (a) to a violation of section 157.10 (vehicle ignition unlocked), in which case the maximum
24 penalty for any such violation is a fine of twenty dollars ($20.00) if the fine is paad in the
25 traffic violations bureau within one (1) week of the date of the violation;
26
27 (b) to a violation of section 157.04(12) (Garbage vehicle over 30 minutes), in which case the
28 maximum penalty for any such violation is a fine of one hundred dollars ($100.00) if the fine
29 is paid in the traffic violations bureau within one (1) week of the date of the violation.

days after its passage, approval and publication.

- implement the decision ro increase the fine to $15 already made by the City Counci] as part of the 1996 budget process,
- help to offset ihe cost of pazking enforcement,
