2 WHEIZEAS, the Fitzgerald Theatre is a treasured cultural asset in the City of Saint Paul

attractions, such as the Ordway, State, Orpheum, Cricket and Guthrie Theatres, and the Arts &
Science Center to have or use liquor licenses on their premises for the benefit of their patrons;
and
WHEREAS, it would be desirable to permit the Fitzgerald Theatre the same rights as
others in the Twin Cities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul supports legislation to amend
Minnesota Statutes, section 340A.404, to allow issuance of a liquor license to the Fitzgerald
Theatre, and requests that the Legislature of the State of Minnesota adopt such legislation during
its 1999 Regular Session.
