ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER,
WHEREAS, the Department of Finance and Management Services supports the City's
goals for Total Quality Improvement and the Mayor's priority for reinventing government; and
WHEREAS, the Department has adopted a mission statement that focuses on providing
superior support services that are responsive to customers' needs; and
WHEREAS, the Department managers believe that it is important to recognize empioyees
who contribute to the accomplishment of these City priorities and Department mission; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Division has adopted a formal employee recognition and
awards program; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Purchasing Division is authorized to spend up to $300 annually from
its adopted budgets for such placques, pins, and other related items to implement the
recognition and awards program.

Division manager and staff wish to have a formal way to recognize Division staff who
contribute to the achievement of City goals, and in particular who demonstrate excellent
customer service. REcognition program plan was put together by an internal staff team
based on extensive research and involvement of Division staff.

Public recognition of excellet service will help stimulate even more positive behavior
and will contribute to a positive work environment.
