Inifiating Action The project was initiated by the I,ex-Hamline Community Council. Existing Conditions Lighting in this azea is inadequa[e and now provided by ten wood-pole mounted lights. These do not provide an adequate amount of light, nor any uniformity of light distribution. Proposed Improvements Installation of approximately 47 lantern fixtures with 100 watt HPS bulbs. Positive Benefits This will be an attractive ligh[ing system which will provide an adequate amount of light with an acceptable uniformity of distribution. Adverse Ef£ects As with all new lighting systems, there will be some increased maintenance and operating costs to the City. Time Schedule Construc[ion in fall of 2000 and/or spring/summer of 2001.
