The Council of the City of Saint Paul has conducted a public hearing upon the
above improvement, due notice thereof having been given as prescribed by the City
Charter; and
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations
pertaining to said proposed improvement and has fully considered the same; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the
above-described improvements be made, and the proper City officers are hereby
directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FUATHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion o£ said improvement, the proper City
officers shall calculate all e�enses incurred therein and shall report the same to
the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

Instailation of an above standazd banner/liaht pylon lighting system on the median on Keilogg
Boulevard from West Seventh Street to approximately 750' eastward, near Exchange Street..
Initiating Action
The project was initiated by the "Mayors Urban Core Team" and "Saint Paul on the Mississippi
Design Center".
Existing Conditions
Lighting in this azea is cunently provided by bent straw lighting.
Proposed Improvements
Installation of 9 banner/light pylon poles (on the median), each with 5 luminaries.
Positive Benefits
This will be an attractive lighting system from which banners will be hung and illuminated.
Adverse Effects
This entire system is above standard, thereby resulting in additional capital, maintenance and
operating costs.
Time Schedule
Construction to begin in spring/summer of 2000.
