The Council of the City of Saint Paul has conducted a public hearing upon the
above improvement, due notice thereof having been given as prescribed by the City
Charter; and
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations
pertaining to said proposed improvement and has fully considered the same; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council o£ the City o£ Saint Paul does hereby order that the
above-described improvements be made, and the proper City officers are hereby
directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the proper City
officers shall calculate all expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to
the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

West Seventh Sueet to Wabasha Avenue.
Initiating Action
The project was initiated by the "Mayors Urban Core Team" and "Saint Paul on the Mississippi
Design Center".
E�sting Conditions
Lighting in this area is currently provided by bent straw lighting.
Proposed Improvements
Installation of approximately 36 historic twin acom style light standards. Also, at the base of
each tree, an electric outlet receptacle box will be installed for tree lighting.
Positive Benefits
T'his wiil be an attractive lighting system which will provide an adequate amount of ]ight with an
acceptable uniformity of distribution.
Adverse Effects
As with all new above standard lighting systems, there will be increased capital, maintenance and
operating costs to abutting property owners.
Time Schedule
Construction to begin in spring/sammer of 2000.
