RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order
that the above-described improvement be made, and the proper City officers
are hereby directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it

Project
A deteriorating nonstandard globe system along with 8 bent straw light standards will be exchanged for
39 twin lantern style light standards on Selby Avenue, Snelling Avenue, Dayton Avenue and Hague
Avenue.
Initiating Action
Submitted to PED by the Snelling Selby Area Business Association
Exisfing Conditions
Selby Avenue, Snelling Avenue, Dayton Avenue and Hague Avenue are currently served by a
nonstandard globe system which has reached the end of its service life. A system of 150 watt Bent Straw
poles are also in place on Snelling and Selby.
Proposed Improvements
Installation of 39 twin lantern style street light standazds; 10 - 100 watt light standards on Snelling,
I9 - 70 watt light standards on Selby, 4- 70 watt light standards on Hague and 6- 70 wat[ light standards
to be installed on Liberty State Bank property along Dayton. Bent straw light standards will be replaced
with twin lanterns on Selby bu[ not on Snelling.
Positive Benefits
Lantern lighting will provide more light with better uniformity than exists presently. At the same time ii
has a decorative effect on the business area.
Adverse Effects
Increased maintenance and operating cost to the participating propeRy owners.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NQtice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before
the Saint Paul City Council on March 22, 2000 at 5:30 P.M. in the
Council Chambers on the 3 floor of City Hall and Court House.
The purpose of this public hearing is to final order installation
of above standard twin lantern style lighting system on both
sides of Snelling Avenue from Hague Avenue to
north side of Selby Avenue from approximately
Snelling Avenue to 340 feet east of Snelling
side of Selby Avenue from approximately 229 f
Avenue to 220 feet east of Snelling Avenue, a

The Council of the City of Saint Paul has conducted a public hearing
upon the above improvement, due notice thereof having been qiven as
prescribed by the City Charter; and
wHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and
recommendations pertaining to said proposed improvement and has fully
considered the same; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order
that the above-described improvement be made, and the proper City officers
are hereby directed and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the
proper City officers shall calculate all e�enses incurred therein and shall
report the same to the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City
Charter.

Project
A deteriorating nonstandard globe system along with 8 bent straw light standards will be exchanged for
39 twin lantern style light standards on Selby Avenue, Snelling Avenue, Dayton Avenue and Hague
Avenue.
Initiating Action
Submitted to PED by the Snelling Selby Area Business Association
Exisfing Conditions
Selby Avenue, Snelling Avenue, Dayton Avenue and Hague Avenue are currently served by a
nonstandard globe system which has reached the end of its service life. A system of 150 watt Bent Straw
poles are also in place on Snelling and Selby.
Proposed Improvements
Installation of 39 twin lantern style street light standazds; 10 - 100 watt light standards on Snelling,
I9 - 70 watt light standards on Selby, 4- 70 watt light standards on Hague and 6- 70 wat[ light standards
to be installed on Liberty State Bank property along Dayton. Bent straw light standards will be replaced
with twin lanterns on Selby bu[ not on Snelling.
Positive Benefits
Lantern lighting will provide more light with better uniformity than exists presently. At the same time ii
has a decorative effect on the business area.
