above improvement, due notice thereof ha ng been given as prescribed by the City
Charter; and
WxEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations
pertaining to said proposed improv ent and has fully considered the same; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Counci� the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the
above-described improvement be de, and the proper City officers are hereby directed
and authorized to proceed wit the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That pon the completion of said improvement, the proper City
officers shall calculate a expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to
the City Council in accor ance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

Improve the Alley in Block 1, Carbon Street Addition (bounded by Maryland, Albermarle, Orange and Rice ) by
�ading and paving with bituminous material. Also, condemning and taking an easement in the land necessary for
the slopes, cuts and fills, including right of removal of lateral support from subject land or remainder thereof,
occasioned by excavations thereof or constcuction of slopes in the gading and paving of said alley.
INITIATING ACTION:
This improvement was initiated by a pefifion signed by 62%o of the pioperty owners.
EXISTING CONDTiTONS:
The north-south leg of the alley is platted 20 feet wide. The east-west leg of the alley is platted 18' wide.
Grade the alley to a width of 16' and place a hot mix bituminous pavement.

In the Matter of improving the alley in Block 1, Pigott's Carbon Addition by grading
paving with bituminous material (bounded by Maryland,Albermarle,Orange & Rice).
The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received the report of the Mayor
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:

That the said report and the same is hereby approved with no alternatives, and
that the estimated cost thereof is 530,440 financed by assessments only.
That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 7th dav of Aoril.
1999,at 5:30 �-T P.M., in the Council Chambers o£ the City Hall and Court
House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the manner
provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the nature of
the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
