The City's Real Estate Division has studied various alternative sites within the neighborhood and determined that the most feasible and practical alternative is to use a greater portion of the block on which the branch currently sits. This alternative is also preferred by the citizen's group which had initiated the request for a new library. PRPOSED FINANCING The Library has received $425,000 for design and construction-plan costs for the new facility (CPL C98-3F050) and expects to receive an additional $1.5 million in each of the next two years in order to complete the project. As part of his 2000-2001 Capital Improvements Budget, the Mayor has proposed that this funding come from Community Development Block Grants. TIME SCHEDULE The Library wishes to begin construction of the new facility as soon as practicable in 2000; because the funding is to be spread over two years, this may mean that construction shauld be deferred until m+d-year to insure continuity of construction. , , , ia s o2 , ie L ItoB' . it \-. 7 C36 \' ' 10 _ ` 6 , 6 ' 8 o e {a a 2l . . b K ' 6 / 1 ) + °;' . t + ' . s ; ` n 8 e, + , , z3 = 4 N i, 3 a ;- z — --0 19 2 24 ' ti >77 ° os ti '\ is 4 °' 2! .1 LAWStN . zs isa s` {6 G.J t " e i:y tL [50) "";`.icZ, o , (sJ C g N , ' , aJ Z t 5 ! p li (49) . 2 ; ot 3 o e } (G1a {5 3 14 A ' , O , a « ) a3, ' i , a t,, s . ) . , o z co s m, . 5 . 69) A , 3 t () (s¢> e , ii (a3) 6 - " p (ss) 7 A tr w C) C43) ` ,g'' • 1 ry (57) (SG) 8 "^ 9 8 i sa: r - . .;!.J° . . - —=-H A AV b - %S T ` I 2 i23. 6' Ro i131e It / a 1 ` h It6) g31 N 2 o pri3sT 13 115} /04) Z o - R t 3 tlo3) (99 2 o- 0 (f I7) 12 ti 3 12 3 , ' a . ` CloS) C951 + > li t (yo) , ` (9c) II o) 5 (lz°} . 10 3 y ,, t0 oo) (977 5 r p, (139) iol i 6 y e o 9 ll D 11 O71 (IP81 e {} (01) 98) 6 P Q D Y1` YY yM 4 _ tl ----11l1 , I 99} 7 o- a n 60 y i.r 6n / h t .
