RE30LVED FURTHER, That Che Council hereby determines the estate required
for this improvement to be fee simple, absolute and easements as described
above; and the City officers and City Attorney are hereby authorized and
directed to take all actions necessary to acquire said real estate by purchase or
eminent domain.

PROJECT
The Acquisition of 27 parcels located on or adjacent to the current Jimmy L,ee Recreation Center
site on the block bounded by Lexina on, Mazshall, Oxford and Concordia.
PURPOSE
To acquire site for developing with neighborhood park amenities including landscaping, court
areas, and additional pazking and wiil make future building expansion possible.
INTI'IATING ACTION
The Saint Paul Pazks and Recreation Commission's Neighborhoods in Transition plan identifies
11 Rec. Centers in need of facility improvements which will "help stabilize the communities in
which they aze located". This site is heavily used by 58,000 participants for the last 4 years. The
Suminit-University Teen Center, which shazes space with the city's rec. program, averages 4,SOQ
participants per month during the school year and 6,000 during the summer.
FUNDING
The estimated project cost is $3,695,000 and is funded from CIB Funds 1998 -$310,000.
1999 - $847,000, 2000-$846,000, 2001 $846,000, 2002 - $846,000.
MANAGEMENT
The Real Estate Division of the Deparhnent of Technical and Management Services will be
acquiring the parcels for Parks and Recreation. For further information please contact Peter White

PROJECT
The Acquisition of 27 parcels located on or adjacent to the current Jimmy L,ee Recreation Center
site on the block bounded by Lexina on, Mazshall, Oxford and Concordia.
PURPOSE
To acquire site for developing with neighborhood park amenities including landscaping, court
areas, and additional pazking and wiil make future building expansion possible.
INTI'IATING ACTION
The Saint Paul Pazks and Recreation Commission's Neighborhoods in Transition plan identifies
11 Rec. Centers in need of facility improvements which will "help stabilize the communities in
which they aze located". This site is heavily used by 58,000 participants for the last 4 years. The
Suminit-University Teen Center, which shazes space with the city's rec. program, averages 4,SOQ
participants per month during the school year and 6,000 during the summer.
FUNDING
The estimated project cost is $3,695,000 and is funded from CIB Funds 1998 -$310,000.
1999 - $847,000, 2000-$846,000, 2001 $846,000, 2002 - $846,000.
MANAGEMENT
The Real Estate Division of the Deparhnent of Technical and Management Services will be
acquiring the parcels for Parks and Recreation. For further information please contact Peter White
