above improvement, due notice thereof having been given as prescribed by the City
Charter; and
WHEREAS, The Council has heard all persons, objections and recommendations
pertaining to said proposed improvement and has fully considered the same; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby order that the
above-described improvement be made, and the proper City officers are hereby directed
and authorized to proceed with the improvement; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon the completion of said improvement, the proper City
officers shall calculate all expenses incurred therein and shall report the same to
the City Council in accordance with Chapter 14 of the City Charter.

Wilder, Carroll and Summit) by grading and paving with bituminous material. Also,
condemning and taking an easement in the Iand necessary for the slopes, cuts and
fiiis, including right of removal of lateral support from subject land or remainder
thersof, occasioned by excavations thereof of construction of siopes in grading and
paving of said alley.
INITIATING ACTION:
This improvement was initiated by a petition signed by 80% of the property owners.
EXISTING CONDITIONS:
The alley is platted 20 feet wide. The surface of the alley is dirt and gravel.
PROPOSEDIMPROVEMENT:
Grade the alley to a width of 16' and place a hot mix bituminous pavement.

paving of the Aliey in Block 19, Mexriam Pazk Addition. You are invited to an informadon
meeting to find out about the plans, the financing and the proposed construction schedule. Time
and place for the meeting:
MONDAY, JANUARY 5, 1998, 7:00 P.M.
MERRIAM PARK COMMUNITY CENTER (AUDITORIUM)

It is proposed to pave the alley with asphal[ to a 16' width. Total cost of the project would be
approximately $12,833.00. The majority of the project cost would be paid through property
assessments. The estimated assessment is $19.00 per assessable foot. A Real Estate Division
representative will be at the informarion meeUng and can tell you what the assessment for your
property would be.
Construction would begin in spring or summer of 1998. It should be completed within about
thirty (30) days.

INITIATING ACTION:
This improvement was initiated by a petition signed by 80% of the property owners.
EXISTING CONDITIONS:
The alley is platted 20 feet wide. The surface of the alley is dirt and gravel.
PROPOSEDIMPROVEMENT:
Grade the alley to a width of 16' and place a hot mix bituminous pavement.
